Podcast Guru is now the only podcast app to be completely integrated with Podchaser!

What we did

It’s taken us well over a year, and a healthy amount of cooperation with our friends at Podchaser, but we’re very proud to announce that our app is now fully integrated. We’ve intuitively integrated the data and user features that Podchaser can currently expose into our mobile app.

What is Podchaser?

Podchaser set out on a mission to become the imdb.com of podcast data. In the process, they have evolved and expanded into much more. Today Podchaser has the most comprehensive database of podcasts, episodes, creators, and contacts on the market. On top of that, they’ve built a great user ecosystem that allows podcasters, their communities, and sponsors to connect and discover great content.

Why we did it

So, let’s cover some of the basic data you’ll see that we pull from Podchaser.

  • Creator Profiles and Credits - Within our app when browsing the information for podcasts or episodes, we display the creators and guests (when known) and have profile pages for them. The profile pages can also link you to other podcasts and episodes related to that person. It’s a pretty awesome way to discover new content and follow your favorite personalities.
  • Lists and User Profiles - Podchaser users can create curated lists on the website, and there are many fun “best of” lists, genre-based lists, seasonal lists, etc. You can also find a link in the podcast info to browse these lists. What’s more, you can also view the “creator” of these lists and see what other lists they’ve curated. Again, this is another great way to discover interesting and related content you care about.
  • Ratings and reviews? What podcast app would be complete without the ability to rate or leave reviews for podcasts or episodes? If you take the extra step of creating an account on Podchaser.com and linking in the app settings, you’ll easily be able to rate your favorite episodes and podcasts, leave detailed reviews, or do both. These reviews aren’t limited to Podcast Guru — they appear on Podchaser.com and any app that integrates with Podcast Guru.
  • Episode tracking (VIP tier only) - If you’re a member of Podcast Guru’s VIP tier, your episode tracking (what you’ve finished listening to, etc.) is also synced with the Podchaser.com website.

What comes next

You can be sure that while we are declaring ourselves 100% integrated, we aren’t done yet. Podchaser will continue adding new features, and Podcast Guru will continue our strategic partnership and integrate these (as appropriate) into our app to give our users an amazing app experience.
